GLOBAL RETAIL OPERATIONS SUSTAINABILITY LEADER, INGKA IKEA RETAIL
November 2019 - current | Malmö, Sweden
Together in my team we lead the consistent and effective implementation and execution of the INGKA People & Planet Positive strategy in partnership with all retail countries and functions.
As a regional matrix manager for USA, Canada, Germany and Austria I support, coach and challenge those countries directly.
I further act as internal Sustainability Business Partner for Group Customer Fulfilment and Group Expansion supporting them on operations questions in regards to sustainability and the impact and opportunities for their operations.
GLOBAL PRODUCT RECOVERY LEADER, INGKA IKEA RETAIL
October 2016 - October 2019 | Malmö, Sweden
I took the strategic lead in the development of the function and the overall responsibility for all of INGKA Retail in 30 countries and almost 400 stores with approximately 2000 co-workers. I was the functional matrix manager to 30 country recovery managers. In this role I support them in achieving their goals and challenge then to accomplish even more.
As part of our reverse logistic and internal flows, products that are returned by customers or are damaged and can’t go back to stock directly or are damaged internal will get a second chance through our Repack, Repair and Resell processes.
With this we lowers the amount of products that end up as waste and therefore the environmental impact of our operations.
RETAIL OPERATIONS & EXPANSION PROJECT MANAGER; INTER IKEA SYSTEMS B.V.
January 2013 - September 2016 | Helsingborg, Sweden
As part of the IKEA Concept franchise devision I secured as Project Manager the successful implementation of all Retail Operation related functions and processes.
I actively participated in establishment projects of various IKEA franchisors was involved during my time in the planning and opening of 9 IKEA stores on 3 continants.
I further worked actively on the IKEA conceptual payment development to secure a smooth shopping experience.
As project leader for the IKEA Store Manager programme I secured the successful redesign and roll-out of a training program aimed at one of IKEA key roles.
CUSTOMER RELATIONS TEAM LEADER, IKEA DELFT STORE
August 2009 - December 2012 | Delf, The Netherlands
As part of the stores customer relations management team we secured that 180 coworkers enabled our customers to have a great shopping experience alongside their fellow store colleagues.
In particular I was responsible for the smooth check-out experience and the development of our 80 team members.
The IKEA Concept Center includes IKEA Delft, a fully functional IKEA store that welcomes 3,2 million visitors annually and employs 830 co-workers.

EDUCATION
What I’ve Learned
BA RETAIL MANAGEMENT
September 2004 - May 2007
During the program, I took courses that provide general knowledge about business and economics as well as more specific, advanced knowledge about retail.
The education is a vocational training and happened through an applied retail track approach where theory and practice are combined and a unique interaction between students, faculty, and companies is established.
This education is very common in Germany and is widely referred to as "Ausbildung zum Einzelhandelskaufmann/frau".

Actions speak louder than word. It is therefore that in my role I secure that business growth must also be sustainable. Driven by the ambition to run on 100% renewable electricity and continues efficiency improvements as well as striving for energy independency are key elements of my tasks.

As global leader for a core IKEA/Ingka function I secure the strategic development of the function. To stay relevant it is important to grow our business contribution I secure that we have the right strategic focus and that enable my matrix to deliver to our goals.

Only while continuously asking yourself what can be done better tomorrow you will be able to improve your processes. With my bro experience I have the ability to identify process steps that are non-value-adding to your organisation and help you to operate more lean.

For the success of a business it is crucial to know the two most valuable assets your company has - your staff and your customers, It is therefore very important for me to spend regular time on the shop floor. To truly understand someone you have to walk a mile in their shoes.
